Diving in Rawa Island, Malaysia
Nestled in the Sultan Iskander Marine Park, Rawa Island has a fringing reef running the island’s length on the resort side. Its protected status has allowed marine life to flourish. Shore diving doesn’t get much better than this! Best of all, the reef is all ours!
Ten meters from the beach through the calm shallows is the healthiest of reefs. Spectacular hard-coral formations are home to colonies of sponges, countless anemones with their resident clownfish, schools of fusiliers and damselfish and all the tropical marine life you would expect in the coral triangle.
Venture a little ways off the reef into the sand and search for macro critters amongst the coral rubble and seagrass. Whip and branching coral forests are found next to coral bommie gardens at each end of the island and the jetty dive is nothing short of spectacular!
Rawa is perfectly suited for scuba training, those seeking relaxed diving, beginners, and families with kids. The dive sites are easily accessible with shallow, calm waters. If you fancy a dive with a bit more kick, dive from our boat on the untouched reefs of the surrounding uninhabited islands or check out our secret shipwreck just for Rawa guests! Malaysia is situated in the famous coral triangle and is often cited in the top five best dive spots worldwide. Watch this space for new OrcaNation dive locations in Malaysia!
