The Orca Pod

Outdoor Education Instructor

Job Description:

  • Take groups of international and local students ages 6-18 on field trips out in nature
  • Teach students about wildlife, bushcraft, survival skills, or adventure activities
  • Lead group games, team building and curriculum oriented reflections
  • Encourage students to expand beyond their comfort zone and into their growth zone in a safe environment
  • Liaise with teachers to ensure that the team is meeting their learning objectives

Ecology or Geography Instructor

Job Description:

  • Teach IB, A-Level and O-level students how to conduct environmental or human geographical surveys in different ecosystems
  • Teach IB, A-Level and O-level students about the basic functions of ecosystem services or about human geography
  • Help students establish relevant research questions
  • Oversee student research and data collection throughout different ecosystems
  • Assist students with figuring out how to conduct statistical analysis on their data collection

Dive Instructor

Job Description:

  • Lead groups of divers of all ages on fun dives around one of our three locations on Rawa Island, Malaysia, on Bintan Island, Indonesia, or at our headquarters in Singapore
  • Teach the practical elements of courses on open water diving, rescue diving, disability diving and more!
  • Assist with operations and sales at the Dive Center and SeaSports Center if located on Rawa Island
  • Act as the first point of contact for dive related accidents and emergencies
  • Share your knowledge and expertise on marine life

Any PADI certified OWSI or higher Instructor interested in live-in, a seasonal contract position (March-November) on a tropical island paradise, or is based in Singapore, is welcome to apply. Remuneration for Malaysia and Indonesia based roles will include room and board as well as monthly salary and opportunity to participate in a bonus pool.

Dive Center Manager

Job Description:

Boat Driver

Job Description:

  • Drive and operate the speed boat for groups of divers visiting sites around Rawa Island, Malaysia
  • Maintain and repair the boat as needed, as access to the island is limited
  • Assist with operations and sales at the Dive Center and SeaSports Centre
  • Ensure diver safety in the water and  on the boat at all times
  • Potential to also work as a DiveMaster or Instructor if qualified

Any Malaysian national with experience operating a small boat and is interested in a seasonal position (March-November) on a tropical island paradise is welcome to apply. Remuneration will include room and board as well as monthly salary and opportunity to participate in a bonus pool. Due to local regulations, only a Malaysian can operate a boat in these waters.
