SCUBA DIVING FAQ

What is the minimum age requirement for scuba diving with OrcaNation?

OrcaNation offers dive qualifications for participants as young as 10 years old. For children from age 8, we offer introductory diving experiences and educational activities that build their confidence and understanding of ocean conservation. All divers under 18 require a parent or guardian’s consent. We also offer guided snorkelling and snorkelling training.

Do I need previous diving experience to join an OrcaNation dive experience?

No prior experience is necessary! OrcaNation welcomes divers of all levels. For beginners, we offer try dives, comprehensive training programs, starting with our Discover Scuba Diving experience, which includes an introduction to the equipment, essential skills, and a guided dive. Certified divers can join us for a fun dive or complete a variety of specialty courses, including advanced and conservation-focused dives.

What steps does OrcaNation take to ensure diver safety?

Safety is our top priority. OrcaNation follows stringent safety protocols, and our dive instructors are certified by leading agencies PADI. We provide high-quality, regularly serviced equipment, and conduct thorough safety briefings before every dive. Additionally, we limit group sizes to a maximum ratio of 1:4 to ensure personalised guidance and attention underwater.

How does OrcaNation promote ocean conservation through its diving programs?

OrcaNation is committed to ocean conservation and integrating environmental education into our dive experiences. Each dive includes a mini-conservation briefing, where we discuss marine life, ecosystems, and sustainable practices. We also offer conservation-focused dives where possible, such as reef clean-ups and species monitoring, for those who want to make an impact while diving.

Are there any medical or physical requirements to scuba dive with OrcaNation?

Yes, for safety reasons, all divers completing a course or dive programme with us are required to complete a PADI Medical Questionnaire before participating. This questionnaire helps determine if you need clearance from a doctor prior to diving. In order to complete your PADI Open Water certification, divers must have basic swimming skills, including the ability to swim 200 meters (or snorkel 300 meters) and tread water for 10 minutes. These requirements ensure you’re comfortable in the water and ready to enjoy the experience safely.
