OrcaNation CAS Programmes
Creativity
Our creativity projects bring students out in nature to be inspired and let go of their inhibitions. Students will be encouraged to think deeply about a topic and consider how best to convey their message while collaborating with people who think differently than themselves.
Possible service projects include:
- Cooking classes
- Nature based art workshops
- Local craft workshops
- Film making
Activity
OrcaNation’s activity elements will challenge students physically and mentally while helping to create healthy habits, building resilience and developing interpersonal skills.
Possible activities include:
- snorkeling
- kayaking expeditions
- rainforest hikes
- scuba diving
- volcano trekking
Service
You can choose for your students to participate in either social or environmental service projects depending on the location. These projects make meaningful contributions that allow schools to see projects year after year. We also encourage schools to participate in pre-trip and post-trip elements for a well rounded experience.
Possible service projects include:
- Community science programs
- Ecosystem restoration projects
- Safe water gardens
- Local school integration
How CAS Programmes work
OrcaNation’s CAS trips weave the three elements of Creativity, Activity and Service into each of our activities. During these trips our staff will coordinate and guide students, then allow the students to take the lead in the execution of meaningful projects with supervision and reflection led by our staff.
We keep the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals at the core of our CAS programs, with our ultimate goal of teaching students that as humanity heals the oceans and planet, the oceans and planet will heal humanity.
